Real Lamb is our No.1 Ingredient

We use real lamb in PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy never lamb meal or lamb by-products. Lamb is a high-quality source of protein with a taste puppies love. Lamb is an expensive ingredient, and not found in most puppy foods. But it’s the first ingredient in PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy. Puppies need up to twice the nutrition of adult dogs. Our unique, highly palatable formulation provides extra protein and minerals to meet a growing puppy’s energy demands. And PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy promotes a healthy skin and coat. There is simply no better nutrition for your puppy than PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy.

These feeding amounts have been scientifically calculated to help your puppy maintain an ideal body condition; however, not all puppies are the same. Therefore, you should use these instructions as a guide, evaluate your puppy's body condition as he grows, and increase or decrease the daily feeding amount accordingly.

Switching to PURINA ONE™

It's best to accustom your dog to a new diet over a 7 to 10 day period. To begin feeding PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy, slowly decrease your puppy's current food while adding increasing amounts of PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy for Puppies unless your veterinarian advises otherwise.

Weaning puppies

Start puppies on moistened PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3 to 4 weeks of age. Feed pups (to 6 months of age) all of the moistened or dry PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times.

Feeding for reproduction

PURINA ONE™ Healthy Puppy provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.

Serve dry or moistened

PURINA ONE™ can be fed dry or mixed with water. If mixed, we suggest one part liquid to four parts PURINA ONE™.

No supplements necessary

There is no need to add vitamins, minerals or other supplements to PURINA ONE™, unless specifically directed by a veterinarian.

Feed only one

A dog's digestive system works best when it receives the same food each day. Although humans crave variety in their diets, dogs do not. Feeding different dog foods can turn your dog into a finicky eater. Avoid feeding table scraps, as they can upset the nutrient balance provided by your dog's regular food, and may lead to obesity. The best way to feed your dog is to feed only one dog food each and every day.

Fresh water

Always provide an adequate supply of fresh water in a clean container each day.

The importance of veterinary care

Proper diet, exercise and regular veterinary care are the best ways to keep your pet healthy. If your pet has not had a veterinary check-up in the past 12 months, please make an appointment today.
