What happened was Daddy dropped his work tag, which he often calls his Astro tag when he got out of his car last week. He had an afternoon meeting to attend back at his office and there they were, Mom and Dad turning sofas and chairs and tables, hunting for the lost tag, which Daddy needed each time he entered his office.
Daddy was searching his car for the 10th time, which was when Mommy looked helplessly at me and asked, “Jodie, did you see Daddy’s Astro tag?” Sigh…what was that? And as if Mom read my thoughts, she showed me another tag and asked me again.
Without further questions, I joined Daddy outside where he was still rummaging through the mess in his car. I started sniffing the grounds like I always do whenever Daddy brought me for my walks. All of a sudden, I smelt Daddy’s smell (think it’s what humans call perfume or EDT, although Daddy never used it on me, which I wish he would coz it smells really good…) oops, better not get carried away now. The nice Daddy smell came from under his car. I stooped down and there it was, his blue coloured Astro tag glaring at me. I squeezed my way under and grabbed the tag with my mouth and wriggled out. Just then, Daddy got out of his car, all wet with perspiration but the moment he saw what I had in my mouth, he laughed and gave me a big hug.
I really feel great whenever I get a pat or a hug or words like, “Clever girl, Jodie!” It makes me feel like I can fly or float… Funny…
That evening, as Daddy was giving me 2 and a half cups (half a cup more than my usual portion) of Purina Turkey food, he said, “Jodie, here, eat more of these. Makes you healthy and your eyes so bright you can help Daddy look for things he will lose next time.” I grinned at Daddy, wagged my tail so hard, hoping he could just add another half cup… Yummy Yum… |
